In Connecticut an endorsement allows a commercial driver to operate specific types of motor vehicles. Each endorsement test requires a knowledge test. Some endorsements may require a road skills test.
To get a CDL or CLP, you must pass knowledge and skills tests. You will have to take one or more knowledge tests, depending on what class of license and what endorsements you need. The CDL knowledge tests include:

A. Connecticut CDL General Knowledge Test
You are required to take and pass a general knowledge test depending on the type of commercial motor vehicle you intend to operate. The general knowledge test consists of 50 questions (40 correct answers represent a passing score). Once you pass the required knowledge tests, you are required to pay a $20 fee for the issuance of the commercial learner’s permit.

B. Connecticut Endorsements Tests
